Peter Roosens
As an employment law specialist, I like to handle other practice areas. My expertise therefore also encompasses civil service law and independent forms of cooperation.
Thanks to my expertise in employment law, I have gained experience in certain niche areas: the health and welfare sector (with a special focus on hospitals) as well as the sports world.
I have been working as a lawyer since 1991. I have a preference for litigation, both inside and outside court. Strategic insight and excellent writing skills are my major strengths. I like to handle complex files.
I have developed specific expertise in social criminal law. As I am regularly appointed as an ad hoc representative by courts to defend the interests of companies, I am well aware of what employers and employees involved in criminal proceedings can expect.
Thanks to my social and professional network, I encounter doctors and other actors from the health sector on a day-to-day basis. They call upon my services for the most diverse legal issues.
Sport is my passion. I am consulted by athletes as well as federations and the government. From 2002 to 2013, I was appointed as a judge at the disciplinary commission responsible for doping of the Royal Belgian Cycling Federation (KBWB-RLVB). I was also part of the editorial board of the professional journal Sportrecht Journaal.
In 2006, I was one of the founding partners of Curia.
Since 1 October 2023, I am a member of the appointment and designation committee of the High Council of Justice (HCJ).
